The Jets and harassment

Ok. I'm sure we have all gone through this before with another reporter. Same story rehashed. The NY Jets have harassed a female reporter.

Although I don't condone this sort of conduct, there are some things that I'd like to state.

One one hand.....

The Jets should have conducted themselves in a professional matter regardless of the reporter's gender or dress attire. What has happened instead, has shown a very unflattering spotlight of not only the team, but the league itself.

Sexual harassment is a very serious matter in our society and must never be taken lightly.

Well.... that was short. Now.... for the OTHER hand.....

WTF what this woman thinking? Ok... here's the attire in question on that specific day....

Now... although she's just wearing just a white blouse and some jeans, she STILL looks provocative. Those jeans are seriously hugging and riding up her butt.

Now... she went INTO the JETS LOCKER ROOM for an interview! LAWDY!!! ok... here's a woman, who's considered very attractive, wearing clothing as tight as we can see, enters a male sports locker room with guys changing, showering and being half to fully naked, is SURPRISED to get some cat call and whistles and possibly lewd expressions?

And plus, she not only is a former Miss Universe contestant, but she has more than a few websites dedicated to her and her "beauty". Wow.

Now, I'd be lying if I didn't think that looks count in terms of ratings and profits when it comes to televised professions. But you can't help but to wonder how many other professional sports journalists, male and female, who happen to be much more qualified, were simply not considered and turned down because they're not "glamorous" enough.

As long as this "hiring practice" continues, you can expect more "Inez Sainz"'s to appear in the future.

*Should the Jets have treated her the way they have? No.
*Was she asking for that treatment based on her appearance? Nope.
*Was the Jets' behavior surprising? Not at all.
*Do I think that Miss Sainz is pretty clueless to the potential situation which she found herself in? Absolutely.
